Jonathan Siegrist

My lifelong passion for travel, and more recently my passion for rock climbing, has lead me to over 25 countries and influenced most of my decision making- in retrospect, maybe not always in the best way (but hey, being young is all about making mistakes right?.. right!?) Fresh out of college, with an undergraduate degree from Naropa University in Environmental Studies, I'm ambitious to pursue a lifestyle of travel, climbing and adventures for as long as possible.
With the support of my sponsors and the incredible global climbing community, I'm determined to ride this little dream of mine until my body (..or resources..) give up. I see climbing as a powerful vehicle for travel and a limitless medium for mental and physical challenge - which defines why I'm such an addict.
As I transition to and from my home base of Boulder, Colorado you can expect to see my name scribbled below high quality routes at the Boulder Rock Club, and I'll also be found coaching some sick strong youngsters with ABC and BRC junior teams. I created this site in the hopes that I could share a little inspiration and a few of my thoughts about the things I love, all the while encouraging the proper use of sick days and hopefully some hard sends! Please enjoy.

Smith Rock continues to impress and inspire us. The landscape is phenomenal, the climbing is fantastic and the locals are simply rad.
..Enter life on the road.. we left Boulder last Thursday, bright and early, with eyes wide and psych level high. Our goal was to hammer out the long drive all the way to Bend, Oregon in a day.
First off.. BIG thanks to the community for coming out last night and making 'Colorado Burl Part 2' a huge success.
After an excited and extremely informative beta spray down from my good buddy Nick Martino on one of America's best kept secrets, Mill Creek, Paige and I were Utah bound with turbo vigor, powered by the WRX.
At times I can't help but feel that our tools for measuring an individuals worth as a rock climber have become too quantitative.
Rock climbing has a uniquely potent capacity to probe, inflate and also crush egos. Everyone, regardless of ability level or investment, has experienced frustration at one point or another-even the world's best.
I'm kind of a freak about Front Range climbing history. Anyone who caught Andy Mann and I's 'Colorado Burl' slide-show last fall knows that we mean business...
Winters can be rough for us rock climber types. Comfortable climbing destinations are few and many miles between, days are short, and delicious celebratory baked goods are plentiful.
